2017 Club Events

Conney Island DXpedition

MUARC will be making their now annual pilgrimage to Coney Island, Lough Neigh, to set up a station on the Island to coincide with the Islands on the Air (IOTA) weekend.

Although technically we cannot register Coney for ITOA as it is land locked island within an island, it doesn't stop us causing pile-ups and having a not so serious 'play at radio'.

Anyone looking to come over to the Island please come to Maghery slipway at anytime between Friday lunch time and Sunday afternoon. Give a call out on the 2m calling channel for the club call and the water taxi will be sent over.

All members and visitors are welcome!

Bring your own food but the cooking method will be BBQ or Gas Grill. If you do want to stay over your more than welcome, there is the club green military tent but if you've got your own tent then feel free to bring it and stay as long as you like!

A new event for the club this year is the Newcastle Festival of Flight on Saturday 5th of August.

We have been accepted to exhibit our trailer. So this is a great opportunity to reach thousands of people and possibly attract some more interested people in the world of Amateur Radio.

*Members check your emails*

3rd of June 2017 we will be at the Lurgan Agricultural Show in Lurgan Town Co Armagh. This is an annual reoccurring event for the club which all the members are looking forward to. We should be on the air for 0930 so give the club a call on 2M, HF or DMR using the club call MN0VFW.

Museums on the Air, the club will be activating from the Ulster Aviation Society Museum using the call GB4UAS.This is a static aircraft display and a museum that some of our members are involved in. The event runs over 2 weekends of 17th +18th June and also 24th+25th June

Sunday 16th July, the club has been invited to the Kinnego  Lifeboat Station Open Day, we will be there with our exhibition trailer and displaying our radios along with activating from the site. There will be many different attractions there that day so come along and have a look around and support our local lifeboat station.
